AC Conference 2011 - April 8-10, Goldeye CentreThe AC Conference is a weekend event that is focused on our Adventurers (12 – 15 years old) and our Challengers (16 – 18 years old). The Conference involves outdoor and personal skill development targeting teens that may include: carving, compassing, outtrip planning, public speaking, meeting procedure and travel. In addition, it could offer education on resource management and environmental issues, and post secondary opportunities for study. What truly sets this Conference apart is the fact that it is planned and facilitated by the teens themselves. Working with JFW adult volunteers to help guide the process, the AC’s work using Conference and sub-committees to develop the theme and budget, research venues, book instructors and contract service providers, write the promotional information, handle registration, and plan the weekend event for themselves. This process gives them a great sense of accomplishment, and encourages them as future volunteers in the program. 2012 AC Conf Committee Application.pdf
